Design laws

  • Every exhibit answers one question
  • Sources are mandatory
  • Footnotes are integral
  • Quantitative proof dominates
  • Conclusions follow evidence

Constitution

The deterministic communication contract: these values are schema-enforced and validator-checked, not styling suggestions.

Voice

How a page in this language reads. The universal prose laws (FN-07) apply first, then this register. The validator checks that the block below obeys its own caps.

DL-14 EVIDENTIA Proof over persuasion.

The exhibit voice. The consulting register done honestly: the title is the takeaway with the number inside it, every figure carries a footnote, every list divides cleanly. Prose is scaffolding for quantities, and a claim with no denominator is not a claim, it is a mood.

register: quantified, footnotedmood: declarative takeawayshedging: confidence intervals, not adverbssentence cap: 20 wordstitle cap: 14 words
Title grammar
Quantified takeaway: the so-what is the title, and it carries a number.
Logistics drives 62% of the overrun; three orders carry half
Do
  • Put a number in every title.A takeaway with no quantity means the exhibit is not finished.
  • Footnote the source of every figure.Integral footnotes are the law of this language, and the prose obeys it.
  • Give every share its denominator.62% of an 8.4 MUSD overrun survives scrutiny. A bare 62% invites it.
Do not
  • No unquantified driver."A major factor" begs the question: compared with what? The comparison is the analysis.
  • No orphan exhibit.A chart with no one-line so-what is data, not evidence.
  • No persuasion adverbs."Clearly" and "obviously" admit the proof is short.
The same point, two voices
Generic machine prose

The analysis reveals that logistics costs are a major driver of the overall budget overrun.

EVIDENTIA

Logistics is 62% of the 8.4 MUSD overrun; three orders account for 4.1 MUSD (note 1).

The language in use

Six chart objects rendered from the same golden data as every other language. Only the token file differs.
